Scan quantities are measured in (legal or letter size) boxes. You choose the format, typically tif or PDF, and they scan away. Though, NetworkAntics’ recommends tif for eCW.
There are 3 ways a client can convert their paper charts to eClinicalworks:
• The practice can scan their documents and manually attach them individually to the patients’ chart.
• The practice can scan their documents using a naming convention such as ‘Last Name_First Name_DOB’ and eCW can write a script to migrate these documents to the correct patients’ charts.
• The practice can hire one of our Document Management partners such as The Scanning Company to assist them in converting from paper to electronic.
Depending on how much archived medical records, this whole process may take a serious amount of time.
